Alfonso Barbieri, "Si Dios Clonase Pan"

Alfonso Barbieri, "Si Dios Clonase Pan"

Released by Club del Disco in 2025, "Si Dios Clonase Pan" is part of the extensive and unique career of Alfonso Barbieri, musician, composer, visual artist, and one of the most unclassifiable figures of the contemporary Argentine scene. The album brings together songs that combine humor, imagination, social observation, and a permanent will to experiment, elements that run through much of his work.

Throughout the album, Barbieri constructs a repertoire that moves naturally between song, sound exploration, and a collage of influences. His compositions feature direct melodies, unconventional arrangements, and an artistic vision that avoids rigid categories. As in much of his work, the music dialogues with other creative languages and proposes an open listening, attentive to details and the multiple meanings that appear in each song.

The album also reflects the visual dimension of his work. The cover and graphic universe were conceived as part of the artistic project, expanding the ideas and imaginaries present in the songs and reinforcing the integral character of the proposal.

In many ways, the subsequent album "Nubosidad Bailable" can be understood as a natural continuation of the musical language explored here. Recognizing the extraordinary potential of Barbieri's compositions, Club del Disco promoted the production of "Nubosidad Bailable" in Los Angeles, at the studio of Gustavo Santaolalla and master Aníbal Kerpel. Together they provided the necessary sonic refinement to bring Barbieri's music to a wider international audience without losing its artistic depth or original spirit.

Even so, "Si Dios Clonase Pan" retains its own identity within Barbieri's discography and offers a privileged insight into one of the most fertile moments of his creative journey. The album confirms Barbieri as one of the most singular voices on the Argentine avant-garde scene.
