Parte de viaje - Ramiro Zayas

The second solo album by Berlin-based Argentine pianist Ramiro Zayas, Parte del Viaje is a sonic exploration that utilizes freedom and a touch of jazz vocabulary to delve into the depths of the soul. It's now available on CD, a year after its digital release on platforms.

In the artist's words, “Part of the Journey speaks of change and the parts of ourselves that remain when we move on. In this sense, it represents for me a sound that accompanies and marks the path. This album was composed between 2019 and 2022, with the premise of exploring the instrumental song format within familiar areas for me: jazz, song, improvisation. The pieces have evolved over the course of concerts, performed by different people in different places. Along the way, I was fortunate to meet Leo Gerstner, Isak Ingvarsson, and Lisa Hoppe, who brought this music to life with such dedication. True to this evolving narrative, I decided to call on new and old friends to refresh and bring a new vision to the themes, allowing for experimentation with different instrumentations: Josh Schofield, Sebastian Greschuk, Yossi Itskovich, Joseph Bijon, and Michał Skwierczyński. As with all albums, this is but a portrait, and I hope the music can tell the stories behind the image.”
