Diez - Marco Sanguinetti

A decade after the beginning of his trilogy numbered 8 in 2013 and 9 in 2017, Argentine pianist and composer Marco Sanguinetti presents Diez , his eighth album, the culmination of this exploratory series. This work reflects Sanguinetti's search for a musical identity that fuses contemporary jazz with the cultural diversity of Buenos Aires.

The album is composed of ten instrumental tracks that develop clear melodies, emerging from dense sonic atmospheres created by his quintet. The lineup includes Belén Echeveste on cello, Migma on vinyl turntables, Ezequiel Dutil on double bass, Tomás Babjaczuk on drums, and Sanguinetti himself on piano. It also incorporates field recordings, such as sounds from the streets of San Telmo and other everyday elements, lending the album an urban and contemporary texture.

In collaboration with designer Laura Varsky, Diez is also presented as a special edition combining album and book, entitled Diez. A Collective Musical Writing . This project brought together one hundred illustrators who, during a session at La Cúpula del CCK, created one thousand illustrations in real time while the band performed the album's songs. The result is a 280-page publication that complements the audio experience with a rich visual dimension.
