"La saga dels marges" is the eighth album by Altertango, an album conceived as a meeting point for different traditions, territories, and musical sensibilities. Divided into three chapters, "La suite ADN," "La suite del Raval," and "La suite de l’Arrabal," the project celebrates friendship and the many collaborations that define 21st-century tango, building a sonic bridge between Buenos Aires, Mendoza, and Barcelona.
Throughout the album, Altertango revives the original spirit of Rio de la Plata tango, understood as a territory of cultural intersections and constant transformation. The compositions integrate elements of contemporary tango with influences from popular song, rock, and Mediterranean sensibilities, resulting in new Catalan songs that naturally converse with Argentine tradition from a modern perspective.
Recorded in Barcelona with key musicians from the contemporary scene, the album features collaborations with Julio Coviello, Pablo Gignoli, Alejandro Guyot, Magalí Sare, Josefina Rozenwasser Marín, and Jor Villarnovo, among other artists connected to modern tango. More than a fusion, "La saga dels marges" functions as an open dialogue between identities, landscapes, and ways of understanding music, solidifying one of the most personal and expansive proposals in Altertango's career.
