Diego Schissi, an Argentine pianist, composer, and arranger born in Buenos Aires in 1969, is a key figure in contemporary tango, recognized for his fusion of tango with jazz and chamber music. Trained at the National Conservatory and the University of Miami, he founded the Diego Schissi Quintet in 2009, with which he developed a unique style that unites tradition and innovation. In 2024, he won the Latin Grammy for Best Tango Album for Apiazolado , a reinterpretation of Piazzolla. His work establishes him as one of the most original musicians of his generation.
