Nicolás Delgado

Nicolás Delgado is a guitarist and composer with an international career who combines tradition and modernity in jazz. Initially trained in Bogotá in classical and modern guitar, he moved to Barcelona in 2002, where he furthered his jazz studies at the Taller de Músics. There, he quickly integrated himself into the local scene, performing in renowned venues and exploring diverse genres such as salsa, bossa nova, funk, and Latin music, while also developing as a teacher and arranger.

In 2011, he settled in Munich, where he recorded his first albums as a leader and performed at renowned clubs such as Unterfahrt, Milla, and Bayerischer Hof, in addition to participating in festivals and touring across Germany, Hungary, France, Italy, Ireland, and Colombia. His work has led him to collaborate with prominent European and Latin American musicians, as well as to share the stage at jams with figures such as Gerald Clayton, Antonio Sánchez, and Dick Oatts. In parallel, he has taught master classes and published a book on jazz history, theory, and analysis in 2021, which was highly regarded on Amazon.

His solo discography includes five albums, the most recent of which is Resurection (Club del Disco, 2025), recorded in Berlin with Ori Jacobson (tenor sax), Francesco Beccaro (electric bass), and Clemens Grassmann (drums). The album brings together original compositions that combine the energy of bebop with a contemporary aesthetic, intersected by expressive melodies, flexible rhythms, and collective improvisation. With this release, Delgado reaffirms his constantly evolving sonic quest and consolidates his identity as a composer with a modern, vibrant, and deeply personal language.
